Alright, so I have put off doing this for a while now and finally decided to join the blogging community. I recently moved to Columbus in September, and since moving here, I have managed to meet some interesting people. I have a decent job, and even managed to get into a D&D group for the first time in a few years. They are a great bunch of guys and have accepted me into the group with open arms which is a relief. I've been gaming with them for a number of weeks now, and definitely enjoy gaming with them.
My character in the current adventure is an Eladrin Wizard, and there is some serious promise for the way that the wizard class plays out, and the transition for me from 2e to 4e was was relatively smooth and easy. Tonight was the first session in a couple of weeks due to a short break while our GM adjusted to a new baby and all of the responsibility that such an event brings. Despite the break, the session went well, and our group (Consisting of my Eladrin Wizard, a Dragonborn Warlord, an Elven Ranger, a Drow Swordmage, and the DM's NPC Dwarven Barbarian) took on a Green Dragon and we are only second level. The encounter itself was a level 5 encounter and we handled it well with a few close calls....(Mainly with my wizard lol) but all in all, we had no deaths and we walked away with a decent amount of loot.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the adventure, and I may even take some time to let you in on my characters background........
My character is an Eladrin Wizard by the name of Dalanor DeMyse, originating from the Feywild. Typically, the Eladrin are a race that does not often venture from the Feywild, but Dalanor is a special case. During his time in the feywild, Dalanor recieved basic teaching and instruction in the arcane arts, but after tasting the power of the arcane, he craved more. He began studying magical items, seeking a way to draw the arcane energy from the items which among most circles, was viewed with contempt. After a few years of researching in secret, he was finally found by the Eladrin High Council, and caught in the act of syphoning the energies from the items. On that day, he was cast from the feywild, told that he could not return until he had learned the error of his ways. Now, he searches the world for the means to augment his power and seeks all knowledge of the arcane that he can find, hoping to expand his spellbook and eventually become the greatest Mage in known history. To achieve this goal, he has joined with a group of adventurers who come from all walks of life, and as time passes, he is learning more about himself and the world, and even so much as the importance of respecting the power of the arcane..............
There you have it........Dalanor i n a nutshell. There are some details I have left out for reasons of keeping them a surprise to the rest of my D&D group, but essentially.....that is the idea for my character. I leave you now with one last thought........
Scientists have confirmed that the bird is greater than or equal to the word...........
Until next week.......farewell.

Cool write up man =) Yeah, you are definitely getting Dalanar's obssesion with magic across, without going to overboard on evil. Now just focus on not dying!
I agree. Very nice write up. The one thing that I want to re-focus on with Dalanor is his rituals. It is a class feature that we glossed over in order to ge the campaign rolling but now that you are comfortable with the system we can go back and start using them more.
